The city of Baton Rouge and the local business community is excited about the Rouge-Orleans and has offered its support in an effort to make this one of the best running events in the country. The pre-race party will be on Friday night February 10th at the race start in downtown Baton Rouge. We’ll have a more detailed itinerary as the race gets closer, but here is the skinny. The first wave of Ultra-Runners will start at around 8:00pm. The pre-race party will start at around 5:30pm. There will be live music, drinks (the good stuff) and great southern food. A surprise guest will start the race by firing a canon from the USS KID battleship. Runners are welcome to stay out as long as they want and we encourage everyone to check out some of downtown Baton Rouge’s great restaurants and nightlife. We recommend that runners stay at one of the downtown hotels to make life a little easier. We will have rooms blocked at the Belle of Baton Rouge which is located footsteps away from the start. The rooms will go fast. An added bonus is that the ARTEMIS parade will be passing 50 feet away from the pre-race party.
